These terms apply to all standard and specialist carpet cleaning appointments supplied under the Carpetcleaning NW2 service name. They form the entire agreement between the customer and the service provider in relation to the booked work, unless a separate written contract has been agreed. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply. No variation to these conditions will be valid unless confirmed in writing.

This includes room sizes, floor coverings, access arrangements, parking restrictions, known stains, and any special requirements that may affect the cleaning process. Where the customer asks for work to be carried out on delicate, antique, wool-rich, or otherwise sensitive materials, the provider may request additional information before accepting the booking or may refuse the task if there is a risk of damage. In all cases, the service provider reserves the right to decline work that is unsafe, unsuitable, or outside normal operating conditions.

Bookings may be made by telephone, email, web form, messaging service, or any other method offered from time to time. A booking is only confirmed when the provider has accepted the request and, where required, taken a deposit or written acceptance of the quotation. Quotations are based on the details supplied by the customer and may be adjusted if the actual condition of the carpets, level of contamination, or access circumstances differ materially from the information given. Any estimate provided before inspection is non-binding unless expressly stated otherwise.

On the day of attendance, the customer must ensure that the premises are reasonably ready for the service. This includes providing safe access, removing personal items where practicable, and making the area available for cleaning. The provider may ask the customer to sign an arrival note, pre-inspection form, or service confirmation before work starts. If the customer is absent but has authorised access, the provider may proceed on the basis of that authority. If access is delayed, restricted, or impossible, waiting time and additional travel charges may apply.

Payment and cancellation clauses for carpet cleaningPayments are due in accordance with the terms set out at the time of booking or on the invoice. The service provider may require full payment on completion, immediate electronic transfer, card payment, or a deposit in advance for larger or repeat bookings. Unless otherwise agreed, all prices are stated in pounds sterling and include only the services specifically described. Any discount, promotion, or special offer is personal to the booking and may be withdrawn if the customer cancels, changes the scope of work, or provides inaccurate booking information.

Cancellations must be made as early as possible. Where a booking is cancelled more than the minimum notice period stated at the time of booking, any deposit may be refunded or retained at the provider’s discretion, depending on whether costs have already been incurred. Short-notice cancellations, failed access appointments, or same-day cancellations may result in a cancellation fee to cover lost labour, travel, and scheduling costs. The provider may also cancel or reschedule an appointment where equipment failure, staff illness, severe weather, unsafe conditions, or other events beyond reasonable control prevent attendance.

In the event of cancellation by the provider, the customer will normally be offered an alternative date or a refund of any advance payment relating to the cancelled work. The provider shall not be responsible for indirect losses caused by a change of date, unless those losses arise from a breach of a legal duty that cannot be excluded. Customers are encouraged to report any rescheduling issue promptly so that a suitable arrangement can be made. Time slots are indicative only and may be affected by traffic, previous appointments, or operational delays.

Liability and customer responsibility sectionThe customer should remove fragile items, loose valuables, and any objects that could obstruct safe access to the cleaning area. The provider will take reasonable care when moving lightweight furniture if this has been agreed, but will not move items that are too heavy, fixed in place, unstable, or likely to cause damage. Where furniture is moved, the customer should note that pre-existing marks, dents, and pressure points may become visible after cleaning. The provider is not responsible for pre-existing wear, hidden defects, or deterioration that becomes apparent during or after the service.

Although every effort is made to achieve a high standard of carpet cleaning, results may vary depending on fibre type, age, construction, previous treatment, and level of soiling. The provider does not guarantee complete stain removal, restoration of colour, or removal of odours where such outcomes depend on factors outside reasonable control. Certain substances, including bleach marks, permanent dye transfer, pet urine contamination, and old water damage, may be impossible to correct fully. Any advice given about expected results is an opinion based on experience and is not a promise of outcome.

The provider accepts liability only for loss or damage caused directly by negligence or breach of statutory duty, and only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to this, the provider will not be liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss. The customer must notify the provider of any issue as soon as reasonably possible and, in any event, within a reasonable time after completion.

If damage is alleged, the customer must allow the provider a fair opportunity to inspect the item and, where appropriate, carry out a remedial attempt before any third-party repair is arranged. The provider will not be responsible for claims arising from the customer’s failure to follow aftercare advice, including avoiding foot traffic, allowing proper drying time, or preventing re-soiling. Where the customer has supplied incorrect information, failed to disclose previous treatments, or requested work against professional advice, any resulting loss may be excluded from liability.

The service provider operates in line with applicable waste regulations and environmental obligations in the United Kingdom. Wastewater, recovered soils, used cloths, disposable materials, and any non-hazardous residues generated during carpet cleaning will be handled and disposed of responsibly. Where applicable, waste will be separated, contained, transported, and processed through suitable channels in accordance with legal requirements and good industry practice. The customer must not ask the provider to dispose of hazardous substances, sharps, controlled waste, or prohibited materials unless this has been expressly agreed and can lawfully be undertaken.

Any chemicals, cleaning agents, or packaging brought onto the premises remain the property and responsibility of the service provider unless otherwise agreed. The customer must ensure that no prohibited substance is mixed with the provider’s equipment or discharge stream. If the customer’s premises contain known contamination, pest activity, bodily fluids, or other regulated waste, the customer must disclose this before booking so that appropriate arrangements can be considered. Additional charges may apply where specialist containment, disposal, or protective measures are required.

Waste regulations and governing law for carpet cleaning servicesAll intellectual property rights in the service description, quotations, wording, branding, and associated materials remain with the provider or its licensors. The customer may not copy, reproduce, or misuse these materials without permission, except for personal record-keeping related to the booking. Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, agency, or employment relationship between the parties. The provider may assign or subcontract the performance of services to suitably qualified persons, provided the customer’s rights under the booking are not materially reduced.

Force majeure events, including but not limited to extreme weather, civil disruption, power failure, fire, flood, accident, pandemic restrictions, supply shortages, or any other event beyond reasonable control, may excuse or delay performance without liability. In such cases, the provider will seek to rearrange the appointment or cancel it on fair terms if performance becomes impracticable. If a dispute arises, both parties should first attempt to resolve it informally and in good faith before pursuing formal proceedings. The customer should provide any complaint details promptly so that the matter can be reviewed while the facts remain fresh.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the parties agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, claim, or matter arising from or connected with the services. If the customer is a consumer residing in Scotland or Northern Ireland, nothing in this clause removes any mandatory rights or protections available under applicable law.
